Q: My Logic Pro X has stopped responding. I cannot access any of the tracks I have written over the last few years. I just will not open! Any idea what might be happening? I am using an old Mac desktop running 10.9.5.

Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing Logic Pro?

Eliminate the issues one step at a time.

Does Logic stop responding when you try to start Logic? Or when you try to open a file/project?

Are you downloading large amounts of Audio Library content in Logic? That can seriously freeze up your machine if the internet connection is not fast.

Can you see/access your project files in Finder?

Do you have access to another computer that runs Logic? Then save a project and try to open it on another computer.

I am not sure whether permissions could be an issue - run disk utility and repair permissions. Wild guess, though.

    NOTE the minimal requirements.

    • 4GB of RAM
    • Display with 1280-by-768 resolution or higher
    • OS X v10.10 or later
    • Requires 64-bit Audio Units plug-ins
    • Minimum 6GB of disk space. 49GB of optional content available via in-app download.

You updated Logic recently? If so, your operating system is a step behind,

If you're using an earlier version of Logic I can post steps to delete preferences & controller defaults, that sometimes helps a non-starting issue.
