Sep 21, 2016 10:22 AM in response to gsv1by rkaufmann87,A 2004 iMacs will not update beyond 10.7.5. If you want to go beyond that it is time to buy a new Mac. Also a 2004 iMac is a PPC based iMac, beginning in 2006 Apple switched to Intel micro processors. Going forward please use the PPC forums for support on your 2004.
Best of luck.

Sep 21, 2016 10:35 AM in response to gsv1by Phil0124,I don't believe a 2004 PPC iMac can even run Lion.
So its either not a 2004 iMac, or its not running Lion.
Lion requires Intel processors.

AFAIK 2004 iMacs top off at Leopard.
So you would need to correctly identify the Mac you actually have, and what its actually running.

Sep 21, 2016 10:36 AM in response to gsv1by Kenichi Watanabe,That's probably at least a Late 2006 iMac, if it currently runs Lion. Whether it can upgrade beyond 10.7.5 depends on the exact model. Select About This Mac from the Apple menu. What does it say there? You can use this document to help determine the exact model
