Q: Looking for a Smart Clipboard App

Greetings,

I'm a writing instructor, and it's that time of the year where I have a hundred essays to grade. I find that I repeat myself a lot between essay comments, and I would like to streamline my process.

I'm looking for an app that will let me insert these commonly used comments into a list. Ideally, I would be able to select which comments are pertinent for the given essay (perhaps using a checked box system) and then copy and paste them in one fell swoop. As it stands, I do this with a word document, but it involves much more copying/pasting per essay and it's easy to slip up and become disorganized.

Is anyone familiar with an app that would allow me to do something like this?

It sounds like what you need is text replacement, rather than a clipboard app. With text replacement you create a short trigger that is replaced with the text you wish to write when you hit the Space bar. There are apps that do this, but it is also built into the macOS. You will find it in System Preferences/Keyboard/Text. You will find some default text replacements from Apple and you may add and subtract your own using the + & - buttons at the bottom of the pane.
