    Hello tomfromchipleyneverapple,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that after updating your iPhone to iOS 10, you're unable to open emails. I can't go one day without accessing email, I know how important email messages can be. I am happy to help get this resolved with you.

If you haven't already done so, I recommend force closing the Mail app and trying again. The link below provides instructions on how to force close apps.
Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the issue persists try restarting your phone using the steps below.

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    Have a great day!

    No that did not work.

After updating my phone IPhone 6s to iOS 10.0.1,  I was no longer able to open E-mails. My phone would continue to get emails, and I could see up to the first 5 lines, by change E-mail preview setting. but went I attempted to open any of the E-mails it would just go to a blank (white) screen. As it turns out if your E-mail address has an apostrophe in it,  this will prevent the E-mails from opening. After IT finely found all places in the Email server and deleted the address with the apostrophe in it I am now able to open my E-mails.

    Go figure!!!!!!!
