iCal "server error" and “509” error

For the past couple of days when I try to add or change an event on iCal I get the warning triangle and when I click it I get "The server responded with “509” to operation CalDAVMoveEntityQueueableOperation." If I revert to server I get the unchanged post. I can't seem to make changes stick.

Today I decided to try and go straight to the calendar on iCloud. I can't even add an event there - it says "server error, please try again"

At the same time (as a result) the calendars are not syncing between devices (3 desktop and 1 laptop all signed in to my iCloud).

I LIVE on this calendar - how can I fix this??

Sigh.

Happy to report that the issue is currently fixed. Unfortunately I don't have a solution for anyone else... It involved spending some time on the phone with iCare until they'd "escalate" the case, then they had me collect some data from my computer and send some screen shots of the errors, and then "sent it to engineering" to address. About four or five days later I got a call saying it was fixed, and it's been fixed ever since (about a week now). Good luck everyone!

Hi Rivalee,

I'm glad to hear that your issue is fixed.

I have this case number in progress with Apple: #100035554146

My issue is reproducible simply by being logged into https://www.icloud.com/#calendar

If I have an accepted appointment from someone else, and I try to change the calendar for which the appointment belongs, I get the error shown in the screenshot below.

Alternatively, if I create an appointment that includes an invitee, a similar error message is generated.
