Q: Auto Unlock Feature Not Working

So, I have a 13-inch Macbook Air (Early 2014) and just updated to Sierra. My iPhone 6 is running iOS 10.0.1 and my first gen Apple Watch is running WatchOS 3. I have Two-Factor Authentication enabled on my Apple ID and have the same Apple ID on all of my devices. After trying to re-enable the feature several times, my mac will not unlock with my Apple Watch. When I open the lid with my unlocked watch, I get "Unlocking with Apple Watch". After about 10 seconds it seems to time out, and then I am prompted to enter my login password as usual. Any suggestions?

Maybe I should clear some things up... I'm an IT student in college, I've been using Apple products for six years, I code in three languages, I'm not new to this... I can follow simple directions and I have met ALL the requirements for the feature to work. I made this post for help that was not addressed in the article which you have provided a link to. I've tried a clean install of Sierra several times, re-setup iCloud and Continuity on all my devices, and still no luck.

Then it should not be hard for you to understand that things don't always work as intended, for a myriad of reasons.
You are not the only one having issues with Auto Unlock.

You may well have to wait for 10.12.1 update, with any luck your issue will resolve.
