Q: 2 Files compare to be same but are different
I have 2 files TrueCrypt 7.1a Mac OS X.dmg & TrueCrypt 7.1a Mac OS X(2).dmg that compare with identical sha256 hash (04db58b737c05bb6b0b83f1cb37a29edec844b59ff223b9e213ee1f4e287f586) and compared using the command cmp. Both compare properly.
When I try to install 1 file I get the message "error truecrypt requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later" but the other proceeds to install correctly. Why, if the files are identical?
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

The problem was with security and privacy settings. Because Truecrypt is not a recognized application by Apple it acted differently for one file over the other. I suspect because I had already tried to install the previous file.
