Q: iPhone 5s Battery Drainage
Dear all,
In recent weeks I started experiencing a very strange battery drain on my iPhone 5S. All of a sudden, battery would jump from 100% to 50-60% overnight (even with Low Power mode on), and it uses considerably more during my typical day than normal.
When this thing started I was running iOS 9.3.5. So, I decided to disable Background App Refresh, delete and setup my mail accounts all over again (leaving a day's interval between deleting and re-setting them up), and deleted a few apps that I thought might have been the problem. But I saw no improvement.
So, I thought that the best way is to reset the phone to its factory settings. And I did that just after I installed iOS 10 (basically I downloaded the .ipsw, and did Restore on it via iTunes), but still, no change whatsoever.
Today, after having done all of these things (and a few more), I decided to change the battery itself. However, this made no change, either. And battery usage doesn't say anything out of the ordinary, apart from "Usage" and "Standby" times matching (or sometimes nearly matching, i.e. how come I have used the phone for 6 hours, and it being on standby for another 6 hours when I only took it out of charge 6 hours ago?).
What I'm left with is a freshly set-up iPhone (only 8 days old setup), with a fresh battery, producing a problem that I had when I had done update after update OTA for 2 & 1/2 years, while using the same battery for the same period of time. Does anyone have any clue as to where I should look at, or things that might be causing this problem?
Thanks in advance.
