Q: Keyboard shortcuts for display sleep not working
When upgrading to macOS Sierra, the keyboard shortcut to put the display to sleep (Control–Shift–(Power button or Media Eject
)) stopped working. As I use this command several times a day, and do not know any other way of putting the display to sleep, this is one of a few reasons why I really consider going back to El Capitan.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Hi Zwolff,
Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Community! I understand you're having trouble with the keyboard shortcut to put your display to sleep. This is certainly a handy feature to use and I'm happy to offer some suggestions to help.
The first thing I recommend trying is logging in to safe mode. This will clear caches and perform checks when you log in. You can find the steps for safe mode here:
Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up
I also recommend testing this in a test user account on your Mac. There may be software or a user specific file that's causing issues with your shortcut.

Cheers!
