Without scripting the process is it possible or likely to be possible in the future to link [read the value of a cell] in another numbers file [with a different file name] to a cell in the open numbers file.

1. It is not possible with any version of Numbers up to 3.x. I have no knowledge whether it is possible in v4.
2. Anyone who kows whtehter or not it will be possible in a future version of numbers will be bound by a non-disclosure agreement, and will be unable to provide information one way or the other. Apple does not, in general, talk about future features or products.
