Oct 13, 2016 5:27 AM in response to agokgozby thecuteastute,I had the same problem. I tried a lot of the options given in the answers below, and one worked for me.
What you do is from keyboard preferences choose "ABC-extended" as your input source.
I even backtracked it. Chose back "ABC" and the definition disappeared.
Hope it works for you.

Oct 14, 2016 12:26 PM in response to thecuteastuteby Renato Aguiar,Thanks for answering. It worked, but in part. I am Brazilian, use the Portuguese language as standard. I have the English dictionaries, Portuguese, Portuguese-English, English-Portuguese, Aurelio and Wikipedia. Before, I used another keyboard downloaded from the internet for my language and has no MacOS Sierra. In El Captain, when using Spotlight, he sought the settings in all of these dictionaries that I enabled. Now MacOS Sierra, with "USA International-PC" or "ABC-Expanded" dictionary, it only shows the settings in English. According to their statement, I installed the keyboard "Brazilian-PRO" and now it shows the settings in Portuguese, but no longer shows the settings in English. In both cases, it does not show results from Wikipedia.
If not for you I would never find out. But still I would like everything to return as before, where the Spotlight showed all settings in all dictionaries in any language and Wikipedia.
Thank you!
