Q: CarPlay problems after iOS 10 Update

Have 6+ with ios10.0.1

Just bought Skoda Superb Estate 2017 model (UK version)

Can connect.

However on music play - both iTunes and Spotify the music will replay for around 5 minutes then:

1) loud buzzing starts and music inaudible

2) for a period the track indicator suggests music still playing ~1-2 minutes

3) Then track indicator suggests track stopped

4) then car screen blanks.

---

IMPORTANT: If i connect using bluetooth can playback iTunes from phone no problem

-

In contrast can use Apple Maps for extended period of time no problem

Skoda say have no record of incompatibility problems (however they did change the 'Bolero' unit slightly for the 2017 models which are new to market).

Try these general steps. They could help.

    1. Reset your iPhone by pressing and holding Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.

    2. Sign out from your iCloud account and sign back in again.

    Ella,

Thanks for the ideas.  Unfortunately neither worked.  Just for further clarification I was using iTunes to play songs already downloaded onto the phone so it was not accessing the cloud.  I did however try both your suggestion.  Had done the phone reboot before as well.

The problem was the VPN service used.  I eventually found a somewhat related post relating to total disconnection of Apple CarPlay caused by VPN which caused me to experiment with this.

Thought I'd just flag this in case anyone else experiences the same problem.

FWIW the VPN service I was using was Freedome (F-secure)
