Universal clipboard only working one way

Hi

I have a retina MacBook Pro running Mac OS Sierra and an iPhone 5 running iOS 10

Universal clipboard only works from my Mac to my iPhone.

When trying to copy stuff from my iPhone Mac doesn't seem to be able to paste them.

I checked that both phone and Mac are logged in to the same Apple ID

Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on in both devices

I have unchecked and checked the handoff option in both devices settings

Anybody knows what to do?

thanks, Idan

All this "turn on/turn off", check all these settings, and restart this, that and the other...instead, why doesn't it just work?! I'd prefer Apple didn't have the feature then to waste people's time trying these various tips & tricks to *possibly* make this Continuity work.

Honestly, the time it took me to try all this (to no avail), I could easily have done the age old method: Copy the text/image on your base device, open Notes app, paste there, then open Notes on your target device and wait for iCloud to update, then copy the text/image from there.

Of course, you can try this in various Apple apps (Photos, Pages, Messages, Mail Drafts, etc), all with 100% success in a 10th the time to try these fruitless Continuity workarounds!

Don't feel alone, there are reported inconsistency in behavior. (Much like Airdrop.)

System requirements for Continuity on Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch - Apple Support

Universal Clipboard is a Continuity feature, so to get it to work, you will need to be signed into the same Apple ID across all devices. Bluetooth will also need to be turned on for the feature to work, and Bluetooth LE is required.

Continuity features are sometimes unreliable, and there have been reports about spotty performance with Universal Clipboard during the beta testing period. Sometimes it helps to sign in and out of iCloud to restore functionality, and you'll need to make sure Handoff is activated on your iOS device (Settings --> General --> Handoff).

Even I tried to copy a photo from my IOS which runs 10.0.2 and MAC on Sierra. But MAC did not pick up the Photo and the same problem from MAC TO IOS. I copied a link from MAC OS and tried to paste it to IOS Text message it did not pick up either. " I have turned off icloud" and did "TURN ON" either way did not work.
