iTunes store art is grayed out for some albums

The past 2 versions of iTunes have set some album and app artwork to gray (grey).

If I click on a 'gray' album the appropriate artwork is shown on the corresponding page.

I have done all the things I know:

  • Fully uninstalled iTunes
  • Reinstalled iTunes
  • Checked my appleid settings
  • Synced my devices
  • Un-authorised all
  • Re-authorised all
  • etc...

Apple Support had no idea.

THEORY: I have 2 apple accounts. One for an iPhone 4 which no longer exists. This has been replaced with an iPhone 5s which inherited the iPhone 4s backup (probably a bad move). The iPhone 5s is using my other account. I think iTunes is cross wired.

Nothing makes any difference.

Happens in Music, App and Podcast store pages.

Latest version of iTunes

64Bit Windows 7

Been using iTunes for years without this issue.

Note the gray items.

Please see screen shot.

Thanks in advance
