Q: How do I turn off voice dialling? (ios 10)
iOS 10 was an upgrade?
Every few minutes, whilst walking along, a ladies voice in my pocket says something like "Voice control is disabled". Sometimes she says "There's no music playing". I pull out my phone and press the Home button, and the screen goes BLUE and says "Voice Control".
I then have to press the power button at the top to make the screen black, then fiddle-faddle with the home button and/or power button until the home screen appears.
I searched for Voice in the settings menu and found voice control under Passcode. I turned that off, thinking that was the thing. I power cycled my phone for good measure. Here's the current settings under Passcode.
I see that Music Voice Control is always on. This is fine, since i do not have music on my phone.
I then thought of Siri. Siri basically listens to what I say, then tries to find the least similar thing and does that. When I say "play music", siri shows me the weather. When I say "launch maps", siri tells me the time. When I ask for the time, Siri launches Podcasts then tells me I have no Podcasts... Siri has no idea what I'm talking about. I really don't get it, since in ios 9 Siri had a clue at least half the time. Incidentally, I asked Siri to how to turn Siri off and got a condescending response but nothing about how to turn it off - tasteful, Apple. So I have turned Siri off.
Now, when I put my phone in my pocket, my pocket frequents me with "Calling Bill, Mobile". Or whoever the phone thinks the coins in my pocket or the dog behind me barking sounds like.
IOS10 IS CALLING RANDOM PEOPLE FROM MY PHONE. Are you freaken serious?
I want to DISABLE my phones ability to USE MY VOICE from performing ACTIONS. If nothing more, I want VOICE DIAL to respect the little setting that says that it is OFF. Because when it's off, it still voice dials.
How do I do this?
