Sep 22, 2016 5:44 AM in response to tommo1311by GeeD,Unlike earlier versions, in iMovie 10 you can't trim or delete part of a clip in an event pane. When you highlight a section you are choosing the part of the clip that will be copied to the project timeline. If you want to avoid importing a very long clip of which you only want to use a small piece you need to split the clip before importing it into iMovie using for example Quicktime Player.

Sep 22, 2016 5:54 AM in response to tommo1311by léonie,Just an add-on: You can mark clips or parts of clips in the Browser as rejected by selecting a part of a clip and pressing the delete key. That will mark the selected part with a red bar at the top. The only thing you can do with the rejected clips is hiding them, so they will be out of the way in the Browser. But they will still use storage
If you chose Hide Rejected from the pop-up menu to the left of the browser search field, clips marked as rejected disappear from view.
