Q: Install Win7pro x64 on macbookair2,1
Hello,
I own a MBA2,1 (mid 2009): http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook-air/specs/macbook-air-core-2-duo-2 .13-13-mid-2009-specs.html
It is currently running OSX 10.11.6 but cannot be upgraded to MacOS 10.12
I was thinking of making a fresh install of Windows 7 pro 64-bit since I have a legitimate install disk and license. However this page (Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support) specifies that only the 32-bit version of Win7 is supported on this model (not the x64 version). I also find this page (http://www.everymac.com/mac-answers/windows-on-mac-faq/windows-xp-vista-7-32-bit -64-bit-boot-camp-support-intel-macs.htm…) that specifies that "Apple officially supports a maximum of the 32-bit version of Windows 7 on these models. However, these models also meet the minimum requirements for the 64-bit version of Windows 7 and readers have reported successfully running the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of both Vista and 7 with appropriate drivers."
I am thus wondering were I could find "appropriate drivers" fitting my needs. Should I use Bootcamp 5 rather that Bootcamp 4 (I guess not)? Is there another place to search for drivers for the MBA2,1 compatible with Win7pro x64?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Best,
