Cannot get into iTunes. Force quit apps says its running

Using Sierra and loving it but cannot get the iTunes window open. It shows in forced quit app window and is nowhere to be found

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10)

Hello rgmac1,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are trying to use iTunes but it is not opening the iTunes window. There are a few things we can do to get that iTunes Window to appear.
I would recommend you read these articles, they may be able to help troubleshoot the issue. You may also consider restarting the Mac, that may also resolve the issue.

If you Force quit the iTunes app and try to relaunch it the window should appear.

Another thing we can do is to create and boot into a test user and see if iTunes will launch in the test user profile. If it does it is isolated to the specific user profile.
