Express or Extreme max Bandwidth

Hi! I have upgraded my bandwidth at home to 1000Mbps in and out. What wireless device do I need to fully use the 1000 Mbps. Do the Airport Express or Extreme give 1000 Mbps? Or do I need a router from another manufacturer? What's the max bandwidth for the Express or Extreme?

And a 2nd question. Does the Tinme Capsule work as a router as well as an external drive?

Thanks

Not really. Even though the AirPort Extreme does have 1000 Mbps, or Gigabit Ethernet ports, the maximum speed when the device is used as a router would be in the 350-375 Mbps range.

The AirPort Express has only 100 Mbps Ethernet ports, so the maximum speed that it ever attain would be 100 Mbps. In normal use, when acting as a router, the Express might deliver 45-50 Mbps performance.

The AirPort Time Capsule can be configured to act as a network router.....or......as a "bridge", if another router is already set up "upstream" on the network.

The Time Capsule is not really an "external" drive. Technically, it is a "network" drive.
