I have the same issue. Appears whenever I put an app in fullscreen when using multiple displays. Doesn't matter which app or what's the display. It also happens randomly when I do a 3-fingers swipe.

Same here, I am using only one space to prevent this problem. I want my spaces back!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Thought I was loosing my mind the first time it happened. Using the computer and all of a sudden I'm in the login screen and the computer is acting like I just restarted it. After the 3rd or 4th time I knew there had to be an issue.

    Fixed!

I had the same exact problem. There is a reddit thread dedicated to this where "cptpunk" gave this solution. It worked for me, but is only possible in chrome as far as i know. Go into advanced settings and disable hardware acceleraton.

    Hope this works for you!

I have the same problem too, using Internet browsers, Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.

Same problem here. Upgraded to Sierra last night, and whenever I exit full screen or swipe between desktops now, my Mac crashes.

I don't know if it helps, but here are some lines from the crash report in Console:

Thanks. I tried this, then restarted. Nothing changed. I think cptpunk is onto something here but it's not the solution for everyone, possibly only for those with isolated Chrome-specific problems.

I'm still waiting for Apple Support to respond to the logs I submitted last week. If I ever get an answer, I will post it. I'm starting to get discouraged.

Very annoying...yes. I've sent logs to Apple, at their request, and got a message from Support again yesterday. They're apparently still reviewing the logs and, hopefully, will get back to me yet this week. I will post their response here when I get it. The problem only affects my account. When I created a test account, everything worked fine, suggesting something that is loading during my login. You may want to try this yourself, to see if it's the same. I've tried to narrow it down by all the standard means but have been unsuccessful. I think it might have something to do with my Cisco AnyConnect software, which I'm going to try to update today (I have to get it directly from my IT department), but I don't know if others in this thread use that.

Still waiting for a response from Apple but, clearly, there are a bunch of users with this same problem with fullscreen mode and Spaces.

I agree. I've been using the PIP function in the meanwhile. It's not as good, but it's something.

I get this issue regardless of my screen size. It seems completely random. Doesn't matter what software I'm using. Any help would be great. At this point my MacBook Air is almost useless.
