Q: Photos app albums not showing up in itunes

I have a Mac running Sierra & an iPhone 7+ using iOS 10.0.1. In my previous configuration (prev version of OS X and an iPhone 6s running 10.0.0) I had Mac Photos app albums synced to my iphone via itunes. Now, with my new setup, I am not seeing the albums in iTunes so I cannot select them. In Photos app, the correct library is designated as the system photo library - it is users>myusername>Pictures>Photo Library.photoslibrary. When I go into itunes and select my phone>photos>sync photos>copy photos from photos>select albums, none of the albums are listed. Just an old iPhoto Events album and a Raw Album album. But I have hundreds of photo albums in Photos using the library that is selected as the system photo library, so I'm not sure what to make of this.

One truly bizarre thing is that while I was typing this, I went back into itunes to verify all my settings and transcribe them here. At that time, the correct albums WERE showing up. So I started trying to select them. But, after I selected two, before I could finish, they disappeared and the screen reverted to as previously described, showing just the two albums. Any thoughts on this freak show?
