Since macos sierra my isight FireWire doesn´t work with Facetime

Facetime (on El Capitan 3.0 (2701)) works with my external iSight. But v 3.0 (3067) does not work on Sierra. Tested copying build 2701 to Sierra, but it produces a crash dump.

The error in the Console is inconclusive.

The lower resolution of iSight (640x480) is a factor with newer Macs sporting 720p cameras.

Mac OS Sierra on Mac mini Late 2012 . iSight connected thru Firewire adaptor 400 to 800. iSight works ( Video and audio ) with Skype. It was working with Yosemite. Now it works on FaceTime only in audio.

About This Mac ( now do not show the date ? ) in System Report, under FireWire, iSight camera appears with all its information.

This should be a FaceTime problem in recognizing iSight video.

I have the same problem. Ishigt camera, Mac mini 2012, MacOS Sierra. It does not work with Facetime. It works with Photo Booth and Quick Time. Someone with advanced knowledge that can be solved using the Terminal application?

As a test, try to install Skype, and use iSight as the video source. In my test, Skype works, so all fingers point to FaceTime.

I just tried a Tandberg/Cisco PrecisionHD USB camera - it is several years old but admittedly newer than our old iSights! Worked perfectly in Quicktime, Photobooth, etc. It also worked in FaceTime. So, perhaps the issue is a bug in Sierra FaceTime specifically with respect to the firewire camera input? Also, I had the same non-functional behavior with two different iSights.

All of that being said, I still couldn't figure out how to get the FaceTime window to show landscape at 720p...

I have the same problem with isight after upgrading, Photo Booth works with video, quicktime displays video, but cashes on record. Also, cannot complete video call, only audio call. External firewire iSight Camera, everything work fine in El Captain.

Same problem, same model computer. iSight Firewire cam and mic works with Skype and QuickTime record.

Mic DOES work with FaceTime and is listed in the preferences for FT audio. No Video setting in the Preferences.

Same problem, in my Mac mini (late 2014) the iSight FireWire with Skype is working well only with FaceTime the video doesn't work!

I have the same problem too. Running Sierra 10.12.1 the external iSight works perfectly in Skype, Viber and Photobooth on my 2015 Macbook Pro 13" - but it won't work in Facetime. I can see it in the list of options, and I can select it - but it won't switch to it and still uses the built in camera in the lid of the MBP.
