Q: Why won't my computer recognize my iPhone when plugged in?

I have been trying to plug my iPhone in my laptop for months now. I have used the original usb cord it came with as well as an extra cord I purchased and the laptop will not recognize that anything is even plugged into it. I had done it before when I first got the iPhone, now all of a sudden it does not work anymore. Please help. My laptop is an Acer Aspire E1-532 with an Intel Celeron 2957U @ 1.40GHz processor. My iPhone is a 6S.

Have you checked if the System - Device Manager shows the iPhone ?

If Windows 7 or higher, check if under Devices and Printers - if the iPhone shows up ?

Are the USB ports working on your laptop?

Try the iPhone on a Mac with a current OS on it.
