Q: Photos won't recognize my camera since updating to Sierra

I updated to Sierra yesterday to my iMac and today I plugged my Canon Powershot SD1400 into my USB cable (as usual) and Photos usually starts up automatically, it did not. Opened it manually, went thru the orientation, and restarted it and it doesn't seem to see the camera. I clicked on import, nothing. What is up?

Does Image capture (in your applications folder) see it? If it does use Image Capture to import the photos and hen use the camera's format command to erase and reformat the card - that probably will resolve this

If IC does not work use a card reader and once he photos are safe on the Mac and backed up reformat the card using yoru camera
