Q: Photos on iPhone 6 I cannot erase
Inadvertently soon after I purchased my iPhone 6 many photos from my Mac Mini were downloaded to the phone. I have now got about 50 old photos on the phone which I want to erase and I cannot see how to do it. I have asked representatives in Apple in Covent Garden London and they are mystified too. The photos are not recognised by "Image Capture" and the rubbish bin icon is greyed out and in "edit" it says the photo is not editable. Later photos (after October 2014) are erasable.
Any suggestions?

All the symptoms apply to photos synced with iTunes Photo sync (see the second part of this help file: Keep your photos safely stored and up to date on all your devices - Apple Support)
If photos have been synced by iTunes they can neither be deleted nor edited, nor are they visible in Image Capture.
If that should be the case, sync your iPhone again with iTunes, but select to sync photos with an empty album from your Photos Library.
