Q: iOS 10 Home(Kit), Apple TV and Remote Access
There seems to be very little information or documentation beyond the cryptic "Automation" tab in the new Home app that explains how to set up Remote Access for HomeKit or what role Apple TV plays in it with iOS 10.
The Automation tab reads:
"Make Apple TV .. the center of your home. Control HomeKit-enabled accessories remotely, grant access to the people you trust, and automate accessories to do what you want when you want." There's a similarly cryptic blurb about the iPad below it, but no links, buttons or any other information.
I was able to find elsewhere online that using your Apple TV with HomeKit requires two-factor authentication on your iCloud account, so I set that up on my Apple TV 4, made sure the firmware was up-to-date, and rebooted it. Still no sign of Home or anything HomeKit related on the Apple TV, remote access still doesn't work, and Siri on the Apple TV won't respond to HomeKit requests (although my other devices do.)
Does anyone have any idea how this is supposed to work? It's very strange that Apple seems to provide so little information about how this is supposed to work.
