Q: Airport extreme with IP addresses

Hi everyone,

So I recently purchased an Airport Extreme. I am an Audio Visual Technician so it is simply being used as a wireless bridge to connect my IPad, or laptop to other audio and Video devices. There is no uplink being used.

My airport extreme is configured as DHCP with an IP of 10.0.x.x. However, a large majority of the equipment I use is preconfigured with static IP addresses in the 192.168.x.x and 10.0.x.x. bands

Is there a way that I can configure the extreme to auto detect a 192.168 device connected to the router with the extreme being configured in 10.0.x.x?

The only option I am seeing right now is to constantly change the static IP's on my equipment to match the IP scheme of the extreme.

Thanks for all the help

NO .. The Airport itself cannot use dual IP addressing. But you should not be using it as router.

You can change the IP of the airport to use 192.168.x.x if that suits you better.

You do that via the DHCP setup in options under the network tab.

The Airport should be in bridge mode and it will hand IP requests to the main router without any problems.
