Terminal missing from Recovery mode

most of the time, I've gotten the language chooser (which doesn't allow you to actually choose a language). Once I actually got the entire menu. This last time I got the following:
I know this is a known issue, and I'm pretty sure it's limited to the 2011 MacBook Pro...just wanted to add some interest to this thread.
I see it when I boot into the Recovery HD.
It's possible your Recovery HD is corrupt. Have you tried reinstalling macOS Sierra over itself? This will rewrite your Recovery HD. You won't harm your data, user accounts or apps. But a system back up prior to the reinstall would be a good idea.
But morreke wrote command-R , not option.command -R? So it was the regular recovery mode and not Internet Recovery?
I never saw the missing menu entries in the regular Recovery partition. Just a bit puzzled what is happening here.
Ok i booted like 5 times into recovery mode and now it's there. strange but it's solved 🙂
It is a known glitch.
option command R wait for the servers to completely load. Terminal will eventually load
I have seen it both ways.
What I am suggesting if you can not get command R to fully load including Terminal , try option command R and patiently wait for it to load.
