Can't delete text message on iPhone

I hope everyone has figured this out. Took me a while. If you double tap ( the old way). You get icons that you can add to the message even if it was sent previously. Press and hold (the same way you can now to view a new text when it comes in) and the copy and more button comes up at the bottom of the screen. Easier to use as it actually stays in place until you choose one.

I had the same issue, could not get to "copy and more" no matter how hard

I pressed an image. But if I use the same technique on an "actual" text. Then

I get the option to delete. just "de-select" the text and select the image.

Thanks Navarro. Your answer should be at the top of the blog! As you mentioned, the trick is to "lightly" touch

the individual text within a conversation rather than pressing hard (like you have to with everything else) to get

the More option to show up. It seems every time Apple updates their IOS they just complicate things.

Your solution was the only one that worked! I too was trying to delete images, but couldn't get it to work, UNTIL, I tried your method. Pressing on actual 'text' then changing to deleting the image itself. Thank you so much for your input!

They key is to press lightly

DId you ever figure it out? My mother's phone does not show the option of Copy/More, but mine does. Her screen looks slightly different from mine because she uses bold text. Otherwise we have the same ios 10.0.02. Thank you.

if you have a phone with 3D Touch, don't press hard. Just lightly touch and hold the photo. After a couple seconds, a "More..." option appears. Choose it and you can select individual messages to delete.

Tap and hold on a message and a menu will pop up at the bottom with the options Copy and More... Select more and you can select individual messages and then tap the trash can icon to delete selected messages.

This is how it works on my 6s running iOS 10. I get both the menu and the tap back icons.

I don't get the option to copy in ios10. Just all the icons.
