itunes preferences devices not showing properly

I ran into this problem trying to fix another problem with Apple's latest "upgrades" -- iTunes syncing the same songs over and over and over and ...

ANYWAY, one of the suggestions was to go into iTunes Preferences --> Devices and "make sure "Prevent iPods....." is checked."

Trouble is, the window that pops up for this is too small for the content, or something like that. All the text is cut-off on the left side, and I can't see the check box.

Now what?

PS - I've already tried clicking on the "Reset Sync History" for the other problem.
