Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having issues with your computer going to sleep during your Facetime calls. I know how important it is to be sure facetime and the computer are working together correctly. Checking the settings are a good place to start. What you might want to try next are some specific restarts. Check out this article to Try safe mode if your Mac doesn’t finish starting up. While this article speaks about the computer not starting up properly, it can also run repairs and stop startup items that can cause issues.Another option you can try is in this article: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac. This will allow you to check to see if the issue is user specific or system wide.

Oct 2, 2016 2:34 AM in response to krp1605by Valentinissimo,Hello ... I had the same issue and resolved it by resetting SMC. I hope it works for you. Here is the link: Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support
In the explanations on the website you can see that managing "sleep" is part of the SMC and resetting can be recommended.

V.
