Q: Win 7 Boot camp on Mountain Lion. Will upgrading to macOS Sierra destroy boot camp?
HI folks,
been running osx mountain lion for a long time on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro. I have a boot camp partition installed with windows 7.
I need this in order to work from home.
I Recently got an iPhone 7 and this requires iTunes 12.5 which isn't supported by mountain lion So I can't restore the phone backup from my iPhone 5S onto the new phone.
MY internet connection is shocking so iCloud backups are going to take forever to upload and then download.
So if I decide to upgrade Mountain Lion to macos Sierra so I can install the correct iTunes version for my new iPhone and thus retain all my old apps and data, will it trash my boot camp installation Of windows 7?
thanks guys,
Steven.

From https://www.apple.com/macos/how-to-upgrade/ ,
Boot Camp
Supports existing Boot Camp installations with Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10. New Boot Camp installations require Windows 8 or Windows 10 (sold separately).
Please make back ups of OSX, Windows (using separate physical disks, if possible) and create a Windows System Restore point before you upgrade.
