iOS 10 on iPhone 6 Battery always shows 100%

Hi everyone, I updated my Iphone 6 (sprint) to iOS10 and since then my batter percentage is always 100%. The phone will die, I will charge it, it will go back to 100% and then never shows any lower number besides 100 until it dies. This happened exactly when I upgraded to iOS10 and the battery life/ percentage was fine prior. Any ideas or tips? Are others having this issue?

Having this same problem on my daughters phone. Went into recovery mode and re-installed software but still no change. Battery always at 100%, random reboots, etc. Get with the program Apple ano fix this. Clearly this is not a small issue as I've been reading of numerous people having the problem and talked to others. It's been this way on 10.1.1, 10.2.1 and I even tried the beta 10.3 and still same issue.

Hi guys. I had the same issue with my iPhone 6 (bought in Las Vagas, being used in Brazil, iOS 10.3.2 Beta). Battery stuck on 100% till it died and returned to 100% as soon as I plugged the charger in it. Well, it might sound crazy, but it worked for me. I turned off the "Set Automatically" option (Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically). I read this tip on Apple's Brazilian discussion forum and it was helpful. Hope it work for yous.

I encountered the same problem just a few days ago with my iPhone 6 and iOS 10.3.3. It kind of hit without warning, and the only action I took that I can relate to the "always 100%" is changing the screen brightness. Otherwise I was using the phone as usual.

I tried the time thing (even though I was already automatically setting my time), restarting, pretty much everything short of flinging it out the window.

What fixed my phone was a tip I'd seen somewhere that said:

1) Put phone in Low Power Mode

2) Let it die

3) Plug it in to the charger and leave it plugged in for about a minute after the phone restarts

4) Let it die

5) Plug it in to the charger again, make sure it is still in Low Power Mode after it reboots and let it charge overnight

Like magic! My phone is now working as designed, with the battery indicator dropping normally!

Your mileage may differ. Void where prohibited by law. Try it, you may like it!

Force restart hasn't worked for me. I tried several regular restarts and force restarts, nothing has changed. The battery is still stuck at 100% until it dies. I even downloaded some apps that supposedly monitor the condition of the battery and it's always perfect with a full charge...until it dies.

On the plus side I seem to be getting most of the life I used to get before iOS 10, I just have no idea what the charge state of my device is.

If restarting doesn't work you will need to reset the settings. You will NOT lose any data. Just the settings you may have made to things like having predictive text working (or not working). Go to:

Settings > Reset > Reset all settings (be careful not to hit erase all content). It will ask for your password and then bring up a screen asking if you are sure. Follow prompts until it restarts itself and you should be good to go.

I had your problem, same stuck at 100% until sudden shutdown. Also recently upgraded to iOS 10 to have this problem.

Went to the Genius Bar, had them diagnosed the problem as not a hardware problem. They said my battery after almost 2 years still have more than 90% capacity. and they reset all my setting but still no good.

So the Genius recommended a DFU recovery. I had to do it at home since i wanted to get my iPhone back up up to date. Which did not went well and got stuck midway of the progress.

Calling Apple support also freaked me out because the tech proclaimed it was a hardware issue that prevented the phone from working again. He asked me to schedule a support session again at an Apple store. Problem is a 2 year phone will not be under warranty and going there will do me no good.

I was doing this DFU mode thing on my mid-2014 MBP 15, unplugging and re-plugging did not eat me anywhere, stuck at the iTunes icon with a cable screen.

I would have believed that this is really hardware related had I not tried my luck again on my 2013 Mac Pro, which i never used to sync my iPhone with. To my surprise the process when absolutely smooth, I got my clean factory default iPhone 6 again.

I was about to try the DFU recovery but noticed that iOS 10.1 update was ready so I thought I'd give that a try before nuking my phone. It just finished updating, and lo and behold, the battery indicator is now decreasing as it should! It seems to have fixed the problem though the solution is as mysterious to me as the cause. No idea what happened exactly but it seems to have been fixed...
