iphone 5s messaging app get slow and laggy after upgrading ios 10

Hi i have iphone 5s ,few days back when ios 10 launched i upgraded my software , but after upgrade i found that ios 10 is very slow than ios 9.3.5 in performance , specially i am facing a lot of problem in messaging app after upgrading ios 10, its not smooth as it was earlier even i can not scroll down the threads instantly , if i try it becomes freeze and take some time to let the threads down. is there someone else who is facing same or similar problem, and please tell me should i downgrade my software, thanks
