Q: iMessage Issue, "Read" Messages not Synced to MBP
I have long enjoyed the ability to start and continue conversations while either on my iPhone or my MBP, however, recently I have run into an issue with iMessage after recent updates that I am unable to fix.
Prior, my iMessage on my MBP would update based upon action on my iPhone and vice versa.
Example: If I receive an iMessage then both my MBP and my iPhone would show the icon "1" for a message. When I would open that message on either the MBP or the iPhone the message would be cleared from the unused device showing that I read the message.
My issue now is that I come home after a shift at work or time at school to open my MBP and my iMessages has an icon of "243" or however many messages I sent and received while I was away. It no longer updates my actions regarding reading on a particular message automatically. It is forcing me to go through and click each message to any number of people I have spoken to during that timeframe to clear the number icon manually. While this is not a big problem it is an annoyance as prior I did not have to do this. I have tried switching iMessage on/off on both devices as a restart but to no avail.
Here's photos from my MBP and my iPhone displaying the same message. On my iPhone the message has been "read" and cleared but on my MBP it still shows as "unread" and will continue to do so and rack up on all my conversations until I manually clear them.
