Q: Help with stolen iphone

A Friends phone was stolen we had find my friends turned on but he called sprint and turned the phone off. The phone would be locked till he got a new one. If the person were to turn it back on would it be possible to find the phone using find my friends app. Maybe sprint or Apple could use my phone to find his?

iPhone 6

Neither Sprint nor Apple will get involved with a lost or stolen device at all. They are not law enforcement agencies and won't act as such at all. Sprint should shut down the account and blacklist the device so it cannot connect to their cellular network, or any other NA network. Apple will do nothing at all - they do not get involved with lost or stolen personal devices.

FIle a police report and let law enforcement handle it.  They are the only ones both equipped and authorized to handle investigating stolen property.
