Q: Using unlocked iPhone 6 with foreign SIM overseas.

OK, I got my ATT iPhone 6 unlocked.  ATT's instructions are a bit unclear so I talk to Apple and find that this is not just a simple process and I can't find it anywhere plainly written and explained.

Based on what I understood Apple to tell me I need to do the following: (I may have gotten it wrong too!)

1)Back up the phone either here in the USA on iCloud or on a computer I'm  traveling with.

2)Sign out of iCloud

3)Put new SIM into phone

4)Restore phone from BU.

5) Sign back into iCloud

I guess because the phone does automatic cloud backups of certain information iCloud has to know that it is you using a new carrier.

Is this all correct and in the correct order of steps? Anything else need to be added?

Has anybody actually done this with a foreign SIM card while traveling?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
