Q: iPhone 6 randomly calls contacts

hope someone can help me...

I have an iPhone 6 that is just on 12 months old, recently updated to ios 10.0.1 and it works really well except that it randomly calls numbers in my contacts (whilst in my jeans pocket). Most are numbers that i have NOT called recently, but they are in my phonebook contacts. The phone is ALWAYS locked, i use fingerprint/passcode to unlock it each and every time.

Troubleshooting so far.... I have taken out the sim card, reinstalled it, reset the phone by pressing home & lock.

Does anyone else have this issue & any fixes????

iPhone 6, iOS 10

    Hello Mike at Gloucester,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding since updating your iPhone, it's been randomly calling your contacts. I can surely see how this would be concerning, especially if it's occurring while the phone is locked. I am happy to help.

You've done a great job trying to get this resolved on your own. At this point I recommend restoring the iPhone with iTunes. This will allow iTunes to remove all content and reinstall the software, resolving many unexpected behaviors. Since data is lost with this step, it's very important to back up first. Please follow the steps in the link below to back up and restore with iTunes.
Use iTunes on your Mac or Pc to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

    Have a fantastic day!
