Stabilization turns off after analysis

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of Final Cut Pro X (10.2.3) on a Mac mini running Mac OS X 10.11.6.

I'm trying to use Stabilization on a 7 minute clip I separated from a larger ingest--I used the blade tool to do this, per the Help topic's suggestion.

I've now tried three times to enable Stabilization and each time, it processes the clip for analysis. This takes several hours to do. Each time I come back to the computer and find that it has finished, but Stabilization is turned off. There is now and orange line above the clip.

I'm not sure what else to do! I found someone with the same problem from 4 years ago: Can't get "stabilization" to stick

Unlike that person I did not optimize on ingest.

Any ideas would be welcome!
