Q: No audio - Win 10 on iMac Retina 27

I have set up a 2015+ iMac 27 Retina with Windows 10 on an external flash drive (Samsung T3)

The bootcamp support software installer says "this mac is not supported" or the like, despite being the latest and greatest bootcamp release that claims to support this machine. However, I did install the drivers in the folder and the Mac is fine - except no audio out.

When I open the Sound devices panel, there are 6 instances of "Digital Display Audio" listed (AMD High Definition Audio Devices) that are all "not plugged in", then a "Digital Audio (S/PDIF)" item that is enabled and clearly has signal going through it.

I have tried reinstalling Cirrus drivers, and all manner of other things - any ideas?

Thanks!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

That is true: there are drivers available but not designed by Apple. Apple does not have driver compatible with your computer for microsoft windows.

This is incorrect. Apple has always written Bootcamp drivers going all the way back to Windows XP. Please see Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support for reference.

Brigadier like any other software will allow the driver to be compatible with Microsoft since you are using a windows partition.

Brigadier is a download tool, not a driver modifier/patching tool.

VMWare however allows to use the apple audio driver from OSX directly into the virtual installation of windows. VMWare can be looked at from the scenario where it is easier to copy and paste files from windows to apple and vice versa or do a backup rather than switching from one partition to another at the time.

VMware Fusion allows a Bootcamp partition to be imported as a VM and you can use it both ways. Please see this VMware link.

Sorry for the delay - the product version from that file:

    <ProductVersion>6.0.6136</ProductVersion>

Thanks again for all the help!
