Q: iMovie - Missing Photo Library

Hi,

 

after update to MAC OS Sierra the photo library in iMovie´Sidebar is not show anymore. So I cannot select any photos for projects.I have repair the photo library and after that the sidebar of iMovie shows the photo library but without any photos. What can I do?

    There was a report yesterday by Léonie that imovie '11 (version 9) does not work with Sierra.  This is not entirely surprising since it was already giving problems with El Capitan so I think you will have to update to iMovie 10.1.2.

    I use the version 10.1.2.

    I assumed you were using version 9 ('11) since that it what your profile says.   In that case I would try the usual troubleshooting steps:

     

    Launch iMovie with the option key held down (it will not try to load any library and leave you to choose one). 

     

    Delete preferences by restarting your computer, and launching iMovie holding down option and command keys.  Select the delete preferences option in the dialogue box which appears.

     

    Launch iMovie with a different user account such as a guest account.

    Hi Geoff,

     

    thanks for your help but the problem is solved. I didn't´ understand why but it works now. I started up my iMac (after x new starts) and now the foto library is show.
