Copy/Duplicate Calendar Events in iOS

Can anyone advise on a way to copy and paste events or duplicate events in the iOS calendar app?

If not, can anyone recommend a free app that allows you to do this?

Reason: I use iOS calendars to access my google calendars. I subscribe to a calendar through google which shows my football team's fixtures. I want to occasionally copy the fixtures I will be attending to my personal google calendar without having to manually add and type all the stuff again. I can't believe this simple functionality isn't there! It's way to do via google calendars on the web, just right click the event and click copy to my calendar.

Any ideas?

I've been checking for this feature on every iOS update for the past 10 years. There have always been plenty of requests for the copy/paste feature, ever since the launch of the iPhone in 2007. Unfortunately, Apple refuses to prioritize this, effectively ignoring a segment of their customers who use iPhone for business and organization.

For the past 8 years, I have been using a paid app called "Week Calendar" developed by WeekCal B.V., that does have copy/paste. It's not as pretty to look at as iOS calendar, which is why I keep checking for this feature to become native, but it's still the best calendar app I've used. And 8 years for something like $5 for the app has been more than worth it.

I don't know if this will help but if you copy the title from the event you are trying to duplicate and then create a new event on the day and time for the event and paste in the copied title, the calendar app recognizes the title and provides the option to bring forward all of the other event details to the new date and time.

I know you posted that question several months ago but in case you never received an answer I hope the above helps.

The answer that has been provided is NOT an acceptable work-around.

While it “works”, it is antiquated.

I have loved Apple, the CEO, and buy stock.

I believe Apple has the right approach on most things and will come up with a better solution to this I-phone calendaring need. It just is NOT acceptable “as is”. There needs to be a direct and user-friendly solution to duplicating basic calendar day events, so one can quickly move things over to a new day/date, copying (at user’s option) the time span and notes, etc. if desired. This is why so many people are switching over to Google Or other products.....keep that in mind!

Thank you, Apple, for thinking more about this and NOT letting this drop. When small things drop, they add up over time, and everything could drop!

Thank you,

Apple is poised to become the first trillion dollar company, and yet, despite the obscene profits they rake in every year, their software is littered with scores of shortcomings. This is why so many mainline businesses (i.e., the businesses that don’t rely primarily on appearance for their sustenance) choose not to utilize Mac’s and OS X, but turn to Windows, despite all of its flaws. Copy and paste functionality in a calendar, let alone any business app, should be expected, and yet Apple puts little effort into making their apps functional.

Ricky Roma,

To copy a title from an event:

Click once on the event in calendar. "Event Details" will open. Now click on "Edit">tap once on the event title (it's the first line/field and you'll see a blinking "i" beam to the far right of event title>Long press anywhere on the title and select "Select All">select "Copy">click "Done". Go back to main listing of your calendar and select the "+" top right of the screen>"New Event" opens>Long press on "Title">select "Paste". Now just adjust time, etc.
