Q: Can I erase iPhoto library with confidence to free space in macOS Sierra?

Can I erase iPhoto library with confidence to free space in my MBA mid 2011, 128Gb, macOS Sierra, it size is 13Gb and the app Photos use 22Gb of Disk space, i suppose Photos already got a backup imported of the iPhoto library!? This since the new feature of macOS Sierra help to free space, suggest me that files like an option to erase.

Thanks for your help!

es but it will not save much space - how long has it been since your used iPhoto? If its been three or no months then archive the iPhoto library in case of future needs and delete it but do not expect large space savings

I have a year i think of no using "iPhoto for mac or iOS", since OS X release "Photos", in a MBA with just 128 Gb, 13 Gb of extra space is gold, more because i always have just 3-4Gb of free space.

As I said yes you can delete the iPhoto library but do not expect to save much space

YOu are in very dangerous territory as you need a Minimum of 10GB free just for normal system operation - you are running with from a third to half of the absolute minimum which will cause system performance issues and cause even larger problems - you seriously need to address the space issue on your computer but this probably is not going to be the solution
