Q: News notification links

I am using an iPhone 7+ on iOS 10. When I receive a news alert in the notification Center, and I try to click on the "read story" button, the link does not take me to the story. It appears to be dead. How do I fix this problem?

    Hello Oswiri,

    Congratulations on your new iPhone! It's my understanding you're unable to read a story from News in the Notification Center. Staying up to date with News from the Notification Center is such a great feature, I want to make sure you're able to use it successfully.

    First, I recommend restarting the iPhone. This can resolve many unexpected behaviors. Follow the steps below to restart.

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

    Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    If the issue persists, try to read stories when accessing the News app from the Home page instead of the Notification Center.

    It appears to have been a software glitch which disappeared when I installed the 10.0.2 update. Thanks.

    Hi Braden85,

     

    I have the same problem, I got my iphone7 at the end of September, OS is upgraded to 10.0.2. I have the same problem, read story/save for later/share don't work when I click the news from notification. These buttons don't respond.

    I have turned off my phone, and turn back on. It's still the same. I have deleted the news app and turned off the phone, and turned back on and reinstall the news app. It's still the same. It's really annoying...

    really want to access the story from notification, because otherwise, I can't find the news from going to news app directly...
