Full service then No service dropped calls can't connect to tower
Posted to help others:
i purchased an iPhone 6s it took 3 hrs for Verizon to connect my phone to my new Verizon account. The phone would show full bars of service is then drop to one or no bars of service. the phone was finally connected but May 2016 until now I sill experience the same problem of poor or no service and dropped calls. Often the phone won't even call out or try to connect to the network. Apple has replaced the phone 3 x's but with no change to my service problems. Verizon & Apple senior level tech support have spent at feast 30 + hours on the phone with me trying to resolve this issue. We've replaced SIM cards with no change. When I put the SIM card in my iPhone 6 it works fine. Full signal no dropped calls and service where roaming. Put it back in the 6s and no service at the same location. Put the SIM card in other non Iphones with no issue. If roaming is on, phone often it will not conbect to the tower at all. Wifi calling is off and LTE voice data are on. I've turned off CDMA and Data with little to no change with the problem. When the iphone 6s looses service and I toggle airport on/off phone it will momentarily show full bars of service, then one or no bars, but still connected to LTE. In some areas I can receive calls but can't call out. Sometimes I can txt use data without it showing on my plan as usage and can FaceTime and use the internet. The above stated sequence of full service to no service happens in 10 seconds repeats all day long in all areas on Verizon corporate towers and riaming towers. Verizon finally got the iPhone 6s to work with full signal everywhere in remote areas that I've never had service but still experienced the not being able to call in one roaming area. Not long after this the phone reverted back to its old ways After they tried to fix the roaming issue.
After 5 Months of none stop calls to Verizon senior level tech support on Sept 22 an up line senior level tech support tech finally came to the conclusion after 3 hrs of trouble shooting determined this is a 100% Apple software problem. He determined that the phone for the past month was not fully connected to Verizon Even though i was using it. He then proceeded to reset the SIM card and phone network settings repeatedly during this time only to have the phone loose all connection after initial power up that showed full service, then it dropped the LTE then it looses all bars of service then shows no bars of service then no service what's so ever in 10 seconds. This has been the ongoing problem with this phone from day one.
He explained that he has heard of this happening and that Apple is now working on a fix but won't be out until possibly Oct. 2016. he also said this problen is also now happening with the new Iphone 7 Models.
HE then stated that a specific sequence not usually used must be used to reset the network settings when the bug fix is released.
