Q: Email not working after upgrading to IOS 10

I had 2 mail boxes on my phone. After upgrading to IOS 10 I couldn't use my email anymore and started to get error messages "connection to server failed". I deleted them both and added them again. It seems that the configuration is ok, but when I try to get into the mail box still get the error messages.  Same issue. Is there any workaround I can use. I need to my work. Is there any known issue on IOS 10? Regards Fab.

No there isn't any known issue with ios 10.  I have two email accounts and have no issue connecting.

That message "connection to server failed" sounds like an issue with your email provider server.

    Have you contacted them?

Sounds like you're not sure about the settings. What is the mail provider (domain name)?

Thank you for your attention razmee209.

I've tryed with different providers, gmail, exchange and outlook.

When I said it seems to be ok, I meant that all check when we add an account was ok.

Even if a miss spelled the password it will say its wrong.

After a created an Exchange account brought all folders from my account ... but it doesn't bring the email and still give me the error message.

I have checked in other chats ... and there is some other people that are having the same problem.

So the (Exchange) account verification goes well but when you go to Mail app, you get "connection... failed"? How do you access your mailbox, WiFi or cellular? If you access your mailbox thru WiFi, have you tried restarting your WiFi router? If you can't access it thru WiFi, have you tried accessing your mailbox through cellular connection (or the other way around)? Have you tried force restarting your iPhone (hold power and home buttons until the device restarts)?

    A: Yes

How do you access your mailbox, WiFi or cellular?

A: I've tryed both. Right now I'm using cellular.

Have you tried force restarting your iPhone (hold power and home buttons until the device restarts)?

A: I did now and still got the same error message.

I've downloaded the outlook app just to see if it was an account problem and I didn't get any problem. I could access the email normally.

I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not but quit working after I've done the IOS upgrade unfortunate.

Apple Mail app freezes in iOS 10.01 on iPhone 7:

When moving between mailbox folders, several times the Mail App has frozen on my new iPhone 7.  I must move to another app and come back and/or to mail quit the Mail app.

I have just updated to iOS 10.02 so perhaps that will fix the problem??

Has anyone else seen this problem and found a solution?

You can rule out connection problems (WiFi and cellular). It sounds like iOS Mail problem. Someone just said 10.0.2 is available today. You can either try that or remove Mail app and reinstall it (not so sure this will resolve the problem).

Remove built-in Apple apps from the Home screen on your iOS device with iOS 10 - Apple Support

I don't think its an IOS issues, as we use exchange here at work, and we have 20 Apple devices on ios 10 and haven't had any issues.

I will try to update to IOS 10.0.2 but I'm not sure it will work.

I've read the update notes and it doesn't seems to address anything like that. But I'll try anyway.

    Thanks.
