My iPod touch 5th gen battery life is nonexistent

I don't use my iPod much because I have an iPhone, so it stays drained for x amount of time before I being charging it. Within the first 3 minutes of charging, the battery life indicator in the corner shoots up to 75%. Now, I've had an iPhone for quite some time and I know there's no possible way the battery charges that fast. As soon as I begin using it off of the charger, it goes back down to 30%. Also, it has been incredibly slow and laggy and I have maybe 10 downloaded apps in total. Help?

iPod touch, iOS 9.3.5

What happens after charging for at least 6 hours?

Battery % is not accurate. It normal to see a large decrease in % battery when"As soon as I begin using it off of the charger, it goes back down to 30%.".

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
