If you are up to date with iPhoto 9.6.1 you can use it for now (someday without warning an update will break it and you will be dead in the water with no real options anymore)
Since Photos is better that iPhoto in nearly every respect and it has a future I suggest you simply learn to use it - any new program that you have not learned how to use will be a problem - your choice but learning Photos would be a much better decision than going back to a dead program like iPHoto

Sep 27, 2016 8:18 AM in response to neonjavaby léonie,How do I revert to iPhoto program, get rid of "Photos" program, without loss of photos?
Do you have iPhoto 9.6.1? And did you keep your iPhoto Libraries?
iPhoto cannot open Photos Libraries. If you did not keep your iPhoto Libraries, you will have to restore them from a backup.
But it would be a red end to revert to iPhoto. Apple is dropping more and more support for it. You can no longer purchase it, no updates since more than a year, and you can no longer order print products from iPhoto.
I there a specific problem why you want to revert to iPhoto? Perhaps you did not yet discover all tools in Photos.
