Q: remote is not charging

Apple TV less than a year old and lightly used.  Connected the Remote to charge overnight (is there supposed to be a light when charging?)  Appears to not be connecting with the AppleTV box. There is not light or indication on the Remote.

The light on the box flashes once when pressing the Remote Touch Pad to turn on.   Nothing is showing on the TV. Pretty sure this is going to require a trip to the Apple Store.  Any suggestions?

Hi. There is no light on the Siri remote. If you go to Settings > Remotes and Devices, it shows the charge level.

You say that you hit the Home button on the remote and nothing shows on the TV. Have you tried reconnecting both ends of the HDMI cable? Is the TV on the correct input? If you hold Menu and Volume Down for 5 seconds, Apple TV will cycle to a different video mode every 20 seconds (3 times a minute). You can stop the cycle when you get a picture.

Thank you for this info. Didn't know about the "hold"! It takes some time getting used to the remote
