Q: Is there a faster way to name recognized faces?

Is there a faster way to name recognized faces? Right now I have to add individual face ("add people") one face at a time and then rename them. Is there a way to speed up the process (there used to be a faster method where you confirmed the names that Photos guessed).

macOS Sierra (10.12)

Try "Merge and Add".  select multiple faces of the same person in the "Add Faces" panel, then click merge and ad to add them to your People Album.  To select multiple faces, that are not adjacent, hold down the command key while clicking the additional faces. Once the merged faces have been added, select the face of the person you already named, then hold down the command key wile selecting the merged new faces. This will add the name to all new faces at once.

But is there any way to simply confirm all of the faces that Apple already has a name for (in a more robust way than going to every single person and clicking "Confirm Additional Photos")?

No, I have not seen any other easier way to do that.

In my library were no additional faces in the "Confirm additional faces" anyway.  It was a waste of time to go there. Nearly all faces in the "Add people" section were single faces hat needed to be merged, and most of them strangers, that I needed to hide.

if you click on a face that is named already and scroll down past all the photos they appear in there is an option that says "confirm more". It will highlight a circle of the person in photos. MUCH faster.

That will work, if Photos recognized additional photos as the same person. The disappointing thing is, that the "confirm more" will not show any faces to confirm for most of the named faces, at least in my library. After opening the person albums for a hundred named persons I found only one album with additional faces to name. All others showed the message "There does not appear any more additional photos of ..."

Like for this  photo, where Photos is right. There is only one photo of this person.

But for all family members, where there should have been hundreds of photos, I would have expected a longer list of recognized similar faces, but there are none. I have to add them one-by-one from "Add Faces" and merge them.
